The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 arrives with several upgrades that help the all-electric crossover SUV remain competitive. These include convenience features like steering wheel haptic feedback and in-car Wi-Fi. There are also some new safety features that keep drivers protected. Lately, Hyundai has been focused on updating its entire lineup. The South Korean automaker is gearing up for its Amazon partnership which will allow it to list its lineup on the E-commerce platform. Hyundai vehicles like the Tucson and Santa Fe have already seen new updates like refreshes and redesigns. While the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has little room for improvement, Hyundai has added some new features that make the electric SUV more capable. We’ll take a closer look at the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and see what consumers can expect.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Is A Good Choice For New EV Owners

For the 2024 model year, Hyundai is providing the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with several upgrades. While these upgrades are not overly significant, they do improve the crossover SUV’s overall safety and convenience. The Ioniq 5 was the 2022 winner of the World Car Awards demonstrating impressive capability and versatility. To keep that momentum, Hyundai has provided the crossover EV with rear-side airbags and rear outboard seat belt pre-tensioners to help improve safety. Hyundai has also improved the Ioniq 5’s steering wheel haptic feedback system to function better with lane-keep assist. The electric SUV also offers in-car Wi-Fi.

Thanks to Hyundai’s latest improvements, the 2024 Ioniq 5 is more capable and versatile than ever before. For its powertrain, the electric SUV offers several configurations. The base setup utilizes a single motor and a 58 kWh battery to deliver 168 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The second option is a single motor with a long-range 77.4 kWh battery. This setup delivers 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Owners wanting increased performance can opt for a dual motor confirmation that uses the same 77.4 kWh battery. With the dual motor, the Ioniq sees an impressive 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque as well as a 0 to 60 mph time of 5 seconds.

Looking inside the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5, owners will find a spacious cabin with a minimalist design. A moveable center console provides more space for drivers and passengers. The crossover SUV also features dual 12.3-inch display screens which serve as the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment display. Driver-assist features like a heads-up display help drivers by providing them with information to keep them safe. For storage, the Ioniq 5 offers 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 59 cubic feet of space with the seats folded down. The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts at an MSRP of $41,650 (plus destination fee). Thanks to new updates, the electric SUV continues to be a reliable and capable EV with a lot to offer.
