Consumer Reports rated the Hyundai Ioniq 6 as one of the best EVs available. In its latest study, the nonprofit organization scored the all-electric sedan 83 out of 100. Consumer Reports used ride quality, charging capability, and overall performance as scoring metrics. Lately, Hyundai has been on a roll introducing new EVs like the Inster EV. The South Korean automaker also revealed its first pickup truck, the all-electric Ioniq T10. Hyundai’s new e-platform is set to improve the automaker’s EV lineup by reducing charging times. With so many innovations incoming, Hyundai is ready to solidify its position within the EV market. For now, we’ll focus on the highly rated Hyundai Ioniq 6 and see what consumers can expect.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 Rated The Best EV Available

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 received a score of 83 out of 100 in Consumer Reports’ latest study. Operating as a nonprofit organization, Consumer Reports conducts consumer research and engages in product testing. In its latest study, the nonprofit reviewed nearly 50 different EVs. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 was rated the third-best EV behind the Kia EV9 and BMW IX. The study was based on ride quality, charging capability, and overall performance. Although the Ioniq 6 was not first, scoring within the top 3 is a testament to its capability and versatility.

In terms of charging capability, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 offers one of the fastest charging times. With up to 361 miles of range, the fully electric sedan has no issue getting drivers where they need to go. Hyundai’s new e-platform will ensure future versions of the Ioniq 6 see an even quicker charge time. For performance, the Ioniq 6 arrives with two options: a single motor or a dual motor. The single motor delivers 149 horsepower and comes with rear-wheel drive while the dual motor delivers 320 and features all-wheel drive. The Ioniq 6 offers a smooth and engaging ride. It also features a 0 to 60 mph time of just 4.3 seconds.

Inside the Ioniq 6, owners will find a comfortable interior cabin with a minimalist design. The electric sedan offers ample room for up to five passengers and thanks to sound-deadening materials, the cabin is quiet. A 24-inch dual display serves as the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen. This display provides drivers with access to an array of driver assist and safety features like a heads-up display. Additional safety features include forward collision alerts, blind spot avoidance, lane keep assist, and smart cruise control. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 starts at an MSRP of $42,450 (plus destination fee). It is one of the best-rated EVs available according to Consumer Reports.
